What this tool does
Resamples repeated signals to a common 0–100% cycle time and computes the mean ± SD across cycles. Designed for gait, EMG, force, and any cyclical data. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Step by step
- Load your data — a single Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file, or use Batch mode to load one cycle per file and average across files.
- Select the signal — pick the sheet and data column, and set the Y-axis label (include units).
- Choose normalisation: leave cycle detection off to treat the whole signal as one cycle, or turn it on to find each cycle above a threshold and normalise them individually.
- Add a reference (optional) — overlay built-in Winter (2009) normative gait, or upload your own
percent, mean, sd CSV.
- Run + Export — process to see overlaid curves and mean ± SD, then download the results or send the chart to the Data Dashboard.
Tips
- Turn on Peak-normalise to compare cycle shape across participants with different absolute magnitudes.
- Set the detection threshold just above baseline (e.g. 10–20 N for force plates) and use min cycle length to ignore brief spikes.
